Paying Cellebrite customer here. Not government or police/law enforcement. It interesting for me in the corporate world to see software I use daily being categorized as one with human rights violations attached to it, as if the software is autonomously doing bad things. No, it’s still people. Also, for those wondering, this software is often used for litigation support (discovery), corporate investigations (employees doing bad shit of various kinds including human rights violations themselves), compliance, government subpoenas, and we have even used it to help loved ones of deceased people retain more accessible copies of phone content from the deceased. Anyway, my point is I see Cellebrite demonized a lot, but there is more than “hacking phones” to the story. By the way, the phone hacking isn’t always possible and costs an enormous amount of money. Suffice it to say so much we have never once even considered it being valuable.
Yes sure, lets all thank cellebrite for saving the children and busting the bad guys. What would have we done if not for them? Also i'm sure corporations like yours have outstanding morality and it has never occurred to them they could snoop on unions.
